The surest way to end a war...
Is to lose it.

View the trailer HERE

Filmed, edited, created, and lived by BUCK SARGENT

Full length feature coming soon/eventually.

Advance praise for GIVE WAR A CHANCE:

“Armed with nothing but his Fuji digital camera, M4 assault rifle and the truth, Buck Sargent has already captured more reality on film in four minutes than Michael Moore has in four years... a modern cinematic masterpiece of war, it’s consequences, and the effects on those sent to bear them.”
-Barbara Hadley

"I agreed with John Kerry* last year when he called Iraq the ‘wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time.’ It is only now that I realize… we were both f-ing morons!”

“A rollercoaster thrill-ride that will knock your socks off and pull you up by the bootstraps! If you like simultaneously choking on your popcorn and pissing in your pants… you’ll love this film!!”

"Give war a chance. That is a highly flippant sound byte to use, considering that most wars involve killing, imprisonment, taking over land, and acquiring assets for the benefit of the leaders of the victorious country. Most wars the US has been involved in are not about protecting our lives; they are about making acquisitions to continue to feed a need to have the more than is necessary. Buck, do you think it is okay for powerful thugs to break into your house and steal your cash and valuables so that they can protect their way of life?"

Brodor,

The trailor is incredible. You are so strong, talented, brilliant and creative--and we're related...what the hell happened to me?

I love you,
Sister

Looks amazing...beating me to the fabulous life of a documentarian. :) Can't wait to see it.

Holy smokes! Is this for real? If so, I can't wait!

God Bless!
Another diehard patriot

I stumbled on your blog and have failed to get anything accomplished since! You're an amazing writer and your unique perspective on the war and military are a Godsend for those of us tired of MSM half-reporting.

Keep up the great work and a heartfelt thank you for your service and sacrifice.

Awesome! I love what you have done.Lots of work I know but well worth it! I am looking forward to
the full length version.

Thank you from my heart for serving our country!

I put a post up at my Blog about your blog and your video.

Our Troops Rock!

Hey Buck nice blog and great writing. I was 11B with the 5/327th at Ft. Rich in 83/84 and have to say I don't miss the 5 mile runs in the chill morning darkness, or the moose nuggets too much. I did PNCOC up there and have a lot of good memories of Alaska. Thanks for your service. We are all proud of you guys and praying for the success of your mission and your safety. Stay well.

I thought the trailer was great. Found your blog site when a writer with the Anchorage Daily News posted a section about you and your work. I think that what you are doing gives all the "civies" a deeper look inside the daily life of you and your platoon. I'm a former airborne infantryman, served with 3rd Plt, C Co, 1/501 for 3 years, 1999-2002. SFC Pickerel was either a squad leader or platoon sergeant for 2nd platoon at the time. Task Force 501 deployed a little over a year after my ETS date, so I missed the "suck in the 'Stan". Thanks for the great blog, and thanks for your service. God bless you, keep your head down, you and your unit are in the thoughts and prayers of many Alaskans.

Respectfully Yours,

A Grateful, former "Geronimaniac".

It is amazing how many people dont look beyond their own four walls.
(Melinda V. comment>)Thanks Guys for going into those peoples house and destroying their way of life for the betterment of all human kind. Remember Hitlers and Stalins Status Quo. Thank God for tough guys like you. Always in our thoughts
Greatfuly yours
Brigitte and Fam.

Hey Sarge (hehehe),

If this trailer is only a piece of the total work, you got a hit on your hands. HURRY UP AND FINISH!!!!

Anyhoo, stay safe, come home same, and in one piece.

I was in the sandpit in 90/91, and remember it too vividly. We knew we weren't finished when we boarded the plane. Thanks for batting cleanup.

God bless, use your cover, and give 'em hell!

-Jeff

fyi: Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Afghanistan did.

Best of luck!

What did Afghanistan have to do with 9/11 that Iraq did not? Did Afghans plot the attack? Did Afghans carry out the attack? Did Afghans declare global jihad against us over 8 years ago?

No, no, and no. But Islamic radicals did, and Iraq was not only crawling with such vermin BEFORE the invasion, but the entire country was under the thumb of one of the world's largest financiers of their exploits.

Pithy, yes. But also dumb.

Nice Backhand, Sarge!!!!

ok i read it.

if one acts on the assumption that US soldiers are in Iraq for the right reasons, then it reads well.

if one believes they are all a bunch of fools there for the wrong reasons, then its all a load of crap.

i would rather read a blog that argues about those assumptions than one that is assuming those questions have been answered.

must say though, i am very suprised at the standard of writing from a US soldier. one is left with the distinct impression that this lad could have done a lot better for himself than his current situation.

I found this site, in an article, on adn.com, I'm happy I saw it, because it rocks!

The movie looks great, the title alone, could make a liberal go crazy!

Awesome! I am a flaming Bush hater, but you have my highest respect. Our species needs your children.

"i am very suprised at the standard of writing from a US soldier. one is left with the distinct impression that this lad could have done a lot better for himself than his current situation."

Typical leftie. Has no idea what it takes to be a Soldier. Our military is not a bunch of bumbling, inarticulate idiots but a highly trained and intelligent force. Drives me crazy when lefties give the backhanded complement to our military. These people have no idea what the words honor, duty, courage, and sacrifice mean.

Hey, I'll get around to that eventually. I've only been on the ground a month and a half; plenty of time left. Besides, I have my job to focus on; I do this in my spare time, which also takes a backseat to sleep and eating for priority.

"must say though, i am very suprised at the standard of writing from a US soldier. one is left with the distinct impression that this lad could have done a lot better for himself than his current situation."

Yeah, I could have done something that pays a lot more, is 100% safer, and definitely more comfortable. But I believed this needed to be done, and how could I advocate a course of action that I was not willing to participate in myself? That is the whole point, and apparently it flew right over your head.

Typical elitist mentality of today's liberal; you think you're all smarter than the rest of us. Sorry to spoil your fantasy.

That ROCKED!! Thanks for your service, your movie & your blog. I'm so incredibly proud of you all for the job you are doing.

DAMN!
That was the best "trailer" for a movie that won't be finished for an entire year I've ever seen! But that matters very little, compared to the safety of your platoon. Real Life, i.e., all of you coming home safe and sound, is what really matters. From all of us stateside, Thank you for your service!
